Day 94 Monday 4th July 2011
Independence Day in the USA but sadly not for our bikes in Vladivostok. A call from Yuri in the morning saying that the papers were not ready to collect from the shipping agents, FESCO, put me in a mild depressive mood. Mark, not wanting to be dragged down to my morose depths, went out and I chose to sit in the sun and read one of my English novels from the Russian bookshop – The Hound of The Baskervilles – what excitement.
Mark came back and we took solace in drink and catching up on our internet emails etc.
A phone call at just before 10pm however, had us excited again – Yuri asked us to meet Svetlana at 8.50 in the morning to go to Transfes (an office of FESCO) to collect the paperwork – this is the paperwork which we will need to go to customs.
