Day 48 Thursday 19th May 2011
I feel a bit ashamed writing my blog today because we have been so bloody lazy. Up until 4 o’clock this afternoon the most exercise we had was making a cup of coffee, ah no, wait a minute I did walk to the motel lobby to get a wifi card to keep us connected to the outside world.
Things did change after 4pm. We had to take a walk a mile up the road to the BMW dealership to collect our bikes which had been serviced and had their tyres changed. That broke us out in a sweat – not the walk but paying the $2,400 bill, not that bad when you consider that we both had a new set of Tourance tyres (that’s tires over here) plus we both ordered a set of TKC 80’s (nobbly tyres) to strap onto the bike for changing in Mongolia.
Mark also had to have a final drive pinion seal replaced to stop the transmission oil leak on his bike but the service guys pointed out a possible failure of his rear Ohlins shock – this is a heavy duty shock that we paid a great deal of money for so he is far from happy about this. We are awaiting some advice from home before deciding to ship out a standby to take with us. Other than this le soliel brille, les oiseaux chantant et tout est bien dans le monde.
