Day 38 Tuesday 10th May 2011
Well would you believe it, another fine sunny cloudless day in California. So far in 6000 miles of riding in the USA we have only had one day of rain and that was in Harrisonburg, Virginia when we were tornado dodging way back mid April and even then we didn’t get wet because we were staying at the motel for 2 days. Shouldn’t push my luck though because everyone tells us that it always rains in Seattle !
The only real way out of Redding North for us was along the Interstate 5. Not our normal choice of route but the this Interstate was not the usual long straight ride, no siree, this one had curves and scenery – forests and snow capped mountains. We took a couple of little detours off the Interstate but the view was pretty much the same. We arrived in Grant’s Pass, Oregon at just before 3pm and checked into a motel chain where Mark took time to catch up with his laundry and I spent an hour or so tightening/checking bolts on my bike.
