$$$$$$$$$$$ We Win Again

Day 53  Tuesday 24th May 2011

We decided not to be lazy today and set out on a seven mile round trip walk in search of the other Emerald Queen Casino aptly named I-5 as it sits right next to the I-5 freeway. The quickest and shortest route is two stops along the freeway but as we are now without vehicles we cannot walk that route so we had to take the minor road which swung away from the Interstate and made the total journey much further than if by car. We were not phased by this because after two lazy days we had to get some exercise at least.

We finally reached the casino doors and went in search of the roulette table where a purchase of $100 worth of chips saw a ten minute gambling spree which grossed us a return of $225 making a profit for the day of $125 – not at all bad for a ten minute piece of work. We stopped, cashed in our chips and walked the three & half miles back to the motel where we revelled in the fact that our total profit from casinos in the USA for this trip has been $425 when you add our Las Vegas profit of $300 into the equation.

News from home about the Icelandic volcano eruption reminded us that we were also in the path of the lava flow from Mount Rainier if it erupts and the roadside volcano evacuation route notices only serve to show how delicately balanced (or unbalanced) things are around the world.

RUN !!

We also caught a glimpse of a motel that has special rates for rooms with a shower.....

Don't go in the Shower ...

And a little gem of an old 1950’s burger bar which appears as popular today as it probably was then judging by the number of cars parked around it

Just like "Happy Days"

But best of all for me was the extension of drive thru’s to include cigarettes – how lazy is that ?
